How We Collect and Use Information
We collect the following types of information about you:
Information you provide us directly:
We ask for your email address when you register for a Sac Bill Tracker account. If you use a sign-in provider, we also receive the account identifier and profile information that you authorize that provider to share, such as your name. We use this information to authenticate your account and provide the service. Your email is not published publicly.
We store your saved bills, lists, tags, notification preferences, reports, and support requests so you can use them across devices. We store device notification tokens to deliver bill updates and purchase records to manage access to paid features. This information is associated with your account.
To retrieve legislative information, search terms, filters, and document requests may be sent to California Legislative Information services at leginfo.legislature.ca.gov. When you open official pages or documents, those services may also receive standard network and browser information under their own privacy practices.
Service providers process information needed to operate these features, including Google Firebase for authentication, account storage, notifications, analytics, and crash diagnostics; Apple for App Store purchases; Google for Google Play purchases; and Stripe for web payments. Payment details entered in Apple, Google Play, or Stripe payment interfaces are handled by those providers. We receive purchase identifiers and purchase status to verify access, recover purchases, and prevent fraud. Report generation services process the legislative information and report selections needed to produce your requested reports.
Analytics information:
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app and website use, including screen or page views, engagement, app version, device information, approximate location derived from network information, and purchase events. The service uses app-instance or browser identifiers. Our mobile screen-view events use screen names rather than your search terms, bill selections, email address, or Firebase account identifier. The mobile app disables advertising-ID collection and advertising personalization. We use analytics to improve the service, not to serve advertisements.
Firebase Crashlytics collects crash logs, diagnostic information, app and device information, and installation identifiers to help us investigate failures. Analytics and crash information are processed under the providers' retention settings and policies; they are not limited to anonymous aggregate data. See Firebase privacy and retention information.
Log file information:
Log file information is automatically reported by your browser or mobile device each time you access the service. When you use our service, our servers automatically record certain log file information. These server logs may include anonymous information such as your web request, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, referring / exit pages and URLs, number of clicks and how you interact with links on the Service, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information.
Sharing of Your Information
We will not rent or sell your information into third parties outside Sac Bill Tracker and its group companies (including any parent, subsidiaries and affiliates) without your consent.
What happens in the event of a change of control:
We may buy or sell/divest/transfer the company (including any shares in the company), or any combination of its products, services, assets and/or businesses. Your information such as customer email addresses, User Content and other user information related to the service may be among the items sold or otherwise transferred in these types of transactions. We may also sell, assign or otherwise transfer such information in the course of corporate divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, bankruptcies, dissolutions, reorganizations, liquidations, similar transactions or proceedings involving all or a portion of the company.
Instances where we are required to share your information:
Sac Bill Tracker will disclose your information where required to do so by law or subpoena or if we reasonably believe that such action is necessary to (a) comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement; (b) to enforce our Terms of Use or to protect the security, quality or integrity of our Service; and/or (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Sac Bill Tracker, our Users, or others.
How We Store and Protect Your Information
Storage and Processing:
Your information collected through the service may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Sac Bill Tracker or its subsidiaries, affiliates, or service providers maintain facilities.
Keeping your information safe:
Sac Bill Tracker cares about the security of your information, and uses commercially reasonable safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of all information collected through the Service. To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps (such as requesting a unique password) to verify your identity before granting you access to your account. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information, and for controlling access to your email at all times. However, Sac Bill Tracker cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to Sac Bill Tracker or guarantee that information on the service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed. Your privacy settings may also be affected by changes to the functionality of third party sites and services used by Sac Bill Tracker. Sac Bill Tracker is not responsible for the functionality or security measures of any third party.
Compromise of information:
In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, Sac Bill Tracker will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Your Information and Rights
In Sac Bill Tracker 2.0, open Settings and choose Delete account. Type DELETE and confirm your identity to start automatic deletion. You will be signed out, and the service removes your sign-in account, saved bills, lists, tags, notification tokens, stored reports, and account-linked support data. Cleanup normally finishes within a minute; interrupted cleanup is retried automatically. You can also request account and data deletion through our website without installing the app.
Account deletion cancels linked web subscriptions. App Store and Google Play subscriptions must be canceled in the store where you subscribed; deleting your Sac Bill Tracker account does not cancel those store subscriptions. Payment providers may retain transaction records under their retention requirements. We retain a minimal deletion marker to prevent old sessions or delayed background work from restoring a deleted account, and limited hashed transaction records to prevent reuse of previously redeemed purchases.
You can request access to your personal information, or correct or update out-of-date or inaccurate personal information we hold about you. You may also request that we delete personal information that we hold about you.
When you visit the "Menu" portion of mobile application, you have the ability to access "Feedback" form, where you can submit a support request. You may request all data be deleted, data be updated, or that you be provided with a copy of all data we have on your account.
